mountain-sides strewn with boulders, deep gorges carved out by swift flowing
snowfed streams, are apart of its surrealistic landscape. Small villages with box-like houses along the river stand
amid lush fields and groves of juniper, poplar and willow. For the rest of the
year , spiti is blanketed with snow and temperature remains well under zero.
